Science Museum

On Saturday I went to the Children's Discovery Museum in Santa Ana with granddaughters Kayla and Marissa, and their mom.  It is an interesting place and is definitely designed with children in mind.  Everything is "hands on" for the kids to explore.

The girls had lots of fun, and spent time looking at, and investigating, all of the displays. One that we all really enjoyed was a shopping trip.  You get a shopping basket with a computer that tells you what to buy. You walk through a faux store and pick out the items that the computer tells you to select.  They are all supposed to be ECO friendly.

Marissa's selecting the best carton of milk!  They look real, don't they?  The girls enjoyed it so much they went through the shopping twice.

Other areas had animal habitats, climbing walls, garden areas, galaxy info, and jungle areas.  The girls had a really fun time checking them all out.

This life-size dinosaur was kinda fun looking through the screen at us.

After we were through at the museum the girls spent the night and went to church with me in the morning.  After church we stopped in to eat some lunch and ran into Elvis!  So I had to take a picture.

Well he looks like about the right age now, doesn't he?

And Marissa just looked too cute in the hat, so I had to take another picture.

Hi Jan, wow, I love Marissa's hat....it suits her..
We have those computers here in the UK.. The Tesco Superstore uses them to collect the items for the online shopping basket in the warehouse... They also have a timer built into them and the staff get a rocket if they exceed the time limit to accrue the shopping.. What's it coming to? Lovely Science museum you have there, I bet the kids loved it......... See you XXXj
