Anyway, after arriving in OC and taking care of what I needed to, we (bff, friend and I) were free to play for the rest of the day.
Since we were so close, we decided to drive down to the beach. It was a nice day, but still a little chilly at the beach. It was also a work/school day, which explains why there weren't many people there. We had the beach pretty much to ourselves, which was nice. I don't get to the beach often, so it was nice to just enjoy the ocean air! We all enjoyed it!
There were a few people out in the water, but not many!
After visiting the beach we decided to head back toward home since it was getting late and we wanted to avoid the evening traffic, which starts earlier all the time! Once you finally get to OC you have only a small window of time before you have to head back out, or suffer the traffic consequences! We did leave in enough time and the drive home was much quicker and easier than the morning drive!
After Tuesday's drive I've decided that though Orange County isn't really that far away (only about 80 miles), the driving and traffic makes it feel like it's at least in another state!

Hi Jan, sounds like a nice day out... We go to a place called Hunstanton on the East coast of England which is about the same distance as your day out... It makes a great day out without going too far... We too have to start out early to avoid the traffic... We usually return home after the rush hour has finished (longer day too)...
It's too cold here for beaches at the moment - we have had a couple of nice days, then we are back to winter again (snow predicted again next week, when will it end?)
